FYI - I have to disagree on that - If your looking for a gme dog,its has everything to do with bloodline,kindly Google Maurice Carver & read the articles on how the best game dog  was formed by mixing bloodlines .

Personally I'd say bloodlines do not make a dog the best or worst, but a dogs temperament and nature does. You can have the so called best bloodline (subjective) and yet the dog is anti social, dangerous etc. When I look at purchasing a dog to me yes looks are a issue but most importantly temperament is the No 1 criteria.

I think that just as we have MMA - The law should concider controlled fights for Pits as this is what they we bred for.

Dogs dont have to fight to the death rather on a point system.

Fighting dogs are the best around children & was used as nannys in the early days. 

Pitbull - The Only Dawg!

MMA has got rules!! Gloves, no kicking to the back of the head etc!!! Pit fighting doesn’t have rules to protect the dog from big injuries or something like that!!

I am sorry to say but I think any person that gets joy from watching a dog fight is sick!! It does not matter how much rules you want to have, it's cruel. I don't even know how Pitmaster can publish such comment. Maybe you should go to a illegal dog fight and let one of those dog's rip your nose off, then come back and see if you want to publish rubbish like this.

Well then I clearly misunderstood your comment. I still think that these people who does fight is sick. But then well done for busting many dog fighters. I just love my pitties so much that I can feel the pain when I think of these fights. Keep hunting them!!!

If you read up on the history of the breed, you will find that the breeders of yesteryear bred only best with best. They did not breed bad tempered, human aggresive dogs at all. This was seen as a bad sign and such dogs were put down. They were not used in any breeding program. How did they establish best? Then it was legal to have public displays eg, dog fights, bull baiting and even dogs vs lions and tigers. They bred for certain caracteristics like gameness, wrestling ability, etc.This is the reason we have the excellent dogs today. We can not look past the history, although we do not condone such activities in our modern society. Today the market is flooded with badly bred dogs. Uninformed individuals who couldn't care less. Who breed only for money. You get the guys who never skips a female, but mate her on every heat. When you tell them to give the poor female a rest, otherwise you will not register the litter, you get told not to tell them what to do with their dogs. You get told, don't worry, I will go somewhere else. So be it. It is these individuals who are fu*#!@g up our beloved breed.(excuse the french). So how do we establish what is best in modern times? Join one of the bodies and show your dogs. Compete against other dogs in conformation, high jump, long hang and weight pull. These activities were developed to test the modern day pitbull. How was the ADBA conformation standards established? They had a look at the best "game dogs, champions" of that era. They looked at what these individuals had in common. They looked at the overall appearance, length of the muzzle, shape of the eyes, length and shape of the legs, (pasterns - hocks - feet) chest, shape and length of the tail, etc. just to name a few pointers. Those dogs were champions because they were the best there was during that era. We still use these standards today by judging the dogs in the conformation ring by using those standards as a guide line.  Join one of the bodies and show your dogs. Show the public, the poor uninformed idiots the true colours of this wonderful breed. Get the press involved. Why is there only bad publicity? Stop BSL. Stop the mud slinging and bad mouthing each other. This is done only for personal gain. You are not realising the damage you are doing to our breed. If the pitbull lovers can not stand together during these hard times, our beloved breed is doomed. SAVE THE PITBULL !!!

Let me just explaine myself. I get a lot of bad mouth now because the only intension I had was to reply to comments about fighting Pitts on a point system. Like I said, I clearly misunderstood the comments that was made. So maybe first go back and see what I commented about and then judge for yourself. My intension was not to bad mouth anybody personally. I just stood up for the breed like all of you do. But like the old saying: "If the shoe fits....."

This was not aimed at you. I see a lot of bulls#!t written on some websites. People bad mouthing other individuals. Those people are also pitbull lovers. Stand together, stop the bullshit!!!
