Dominance
I have two pits, male and female. The female is 20months and the puppy is 3months. Last night i had to break up a fight between the two of them, luckily no blood was drawn. It started when I gave them each a treat and when the pup tried taking the older female's treat, she retaliated and attacked him. Is the only option to permanently seperate them?
Hi
Hi there
I have made the same mistake that you did. My dogs almost killed eachother over a toy, so I now give toys totally seperate from eachother. Also your female has been the baby and now there is another baby in the house so there is already something new to deal with, and now he wants her treat!!! So yes all I can say is if you give them treats or food make sure you are with them at all times and repremand the male as it is not his and he has his own. I would also not seperate them unless she is atcking him now, as you are creating a barrier and that is not healthy. If they ok with eachother then do not split them up.
Good luck though!!

Hi Skye
Next time you give them treats give it to them seperate. When the temptation is removed there should be no problem.
