Scratching

I have had this problem before and i discovered that it was the flea shampoo that was causing my pit to scratch.  I have since then stopped using flea dip and shampoo and the scratching has drastically declined.  If this is the case, use a hypo allergen shampoo (available from any pet shop ).  it kills bacteria on the scratched surfaces of skin and soothes it as well.

Food Alergy

Hi Marius.

My pup has had this scratching problem since she was 8 weeks old. Sounds like your dog has a food allergy. I put my pup onto MAXHEALTH which is fish protein based and her scratching and skin rash improved. We also put her onto homeopathic drops from a homeopath and it also improved. At one stage I tried her on the Eukanuba food for skin allergies and she actually got worse, so i went back to MAXHEALTH. You can get MAXHEALTH from vets or visit their website www.maxhealth.co.za. The food has been fomulated by a vet himself. She is now 6 mnths old and has almost stopped scratching. Good Luck

Royal Canine

I use Royal Canine, If you can, what I do is get a bag of Junior Puppy and Maxi Puppy then mix the two.Reason for this is that Junior has more imune agents and vitamins and Maxi has more calcium and protein, these are just a few differences but the combination is working fine for me.

My pitty is 5 months old now, last I weighted  him he was 14 Kg's on the 22 October this year.I have no problems with his coat, teeth, skin.
