Feeding your Pet
In my profession i have always told dog owners to feed their pets raw meat - not pork and chicken and fish, but raw meat. Even from young, you can feed them a bit of chicken livers (with all the B-vitamins, with chromiun, manganese, and molybdenum and zinc). These are vitally important minerals for any puppy.
I recently peformed a hair trace mineral analysiso on a pup that could not pick up weight. The 90 day history of the dog's hair sample reflected inadequate magnesium (making the pup very aggressive), low levels of chromium and high iodine (speeding up the pup's metabolism, as the owner was feeding him more vegetables than meat). Dogs and pups are carnivores - they eat MEAT - only 15% of their diet must be vegetables and 5% fruit. Dried food do not agree with dogs nor cats or kitten. Olive oil is very good in keeping worms away at a young age... Very little garlic keeps fleas away from young. When dogs are older use a bit of Tea Tree Oil and Lavender oil to chase flees away that they do not return to your dog and breed on him/her.
Finally, feed your pup or dog, only raw meet. Keep in mind that a dog's digestive tract is exrtemely acidic (pH of 1.4) and is very short, and dogs and pups need to rip their meat into chucnks and this is how it is digested. Mince makes any animal's digestive track lazy and digestive disorders start when you feed a dog mince. NO SCRAPS FROM THE TABLE. Wheaty foods encourages worms and fleas. No dairy for a dog - it is a dog not a cow or calf... :-)

Bear in mind
Hi
Bear in mind when feeding a puppy of that age that they go through different growth spurts. In which they will lose some weight once they start growing rapidly.
My advice will be to feed what you are feeding now and just to make sure that he is getting the correct amount. You can feed additional things like the chicken livers; it is very healthy and good for them. But don’t focus too much on bulking him up until he has stopped growing, otherwise you might sit with an overweight adult dog. My main focus usually on all my pups is that they are healthy, don’t have any worms, fleas or any medical condition that might prohibit them from growing properly. If they have no health problems I feed them what they are suppose to get and as soon as I see they are losing weight I feed them extra as to support the growth spurts.
Once a week, I like to give
Once a week, I like to give my pits chicken livers. I take a 250g tub of chicken livers, 1 cup of rice, 4 cups water, pop it in the microwave on high for 30 minutes (stirring it two or three times in between), let it cool and serve. They love it, and its really healthy.
Hope that helps.

Help with food
Hi Wendy
Thanks for the advice will the chicken livers help him put on mass and how long does it take to see results or is it depends on the amount off excercise he gets and do you serve it with his pellets or on its own
Thanks

Hi
Hi Tucker
I must agree with Lize. Your baby is still very puppy and he will grow into body mass. The chicken livers are great, my baby also loves it, but I would suggest you just feed as you have been, cause you can end up with an overwieght dog in a few month, it is hard for them to bulk up at that age as they are still growing so dramatically every day. So give him time to grow into a bulky dog and enjoy the puppy stage as it goes so fast, he still has quite some time to get to adulthood so let it happen at his pace. Trust me, one day Ozzie was a baby who's legs were to long, body to short, head not the right size ..... as he grows into himself, and today he is a stunning 15 month old bruut of a dog, not to bulky but a true Pit bull!! Even my female is small but muscular, in the end for me it is about them being healthy and looking it to. I feed Eukanuba, great food, a little expensice, but my dogs have never been ill and are happy. So feed what you are feeding now, it's a great food and just make sure you feed as per directed and yous baba will grown into a bruut, they all do in the end!!
