Please Help With Establishing A Pitbul Club In My Area.

Hi Pitlovers!!!! We are a group of Pit fanciers in Mamelodi near Pretoria and we intend establishing a Pitbul Club in our area. Our main focus is to protect the breed and we are against Dog Fighting. To this effect our delegate went to attend a show in Olifansfontein yesterday i.e 31 January 2010 and they met some of the people who were willing to help us but they lost contact of a lady from Cullinan who was willing to give us tips on how to establish a club. She told my delegate that they met on weekends in Derdepoort.

What must we do to establish a club? Do we need a constitution? What legalities must we go through? Please help us as this breed is prominent in our township and we intend to protect its name. My name is Jacob Sibanda and my cell is 0732575739. Please forward your tips to masike@cheerful.com.

Hi there

What a wonderful idea Jacob, The world needs more people like you. I have a suggestion, I myself am a pitbull owner, and I try and help where ever I can when it comes to this lovely breed. I have managed to get a hold of a lady called Belinda from the Charm rescue shelter. This AMAZING shelter is one of the only ones that is willing to take on any bullie breed and give it the chance they deserve. So I would suggest you contact her and ask her if she could assist you on this. Just go onto Charm.co.za and you will have to ask a Tracy for Belinda's number. Tracy herself might even be able to assist you. These guys do WONDEFUL work, they give this mistunderstoon breed the respect and second chance they deserve and I think that is wonderful. Also, they have some stunning pits up for adoption so all the more reason to get involved in the cause!!!
