Ok you love Pitbull's,  And if you did some research,  you'll know that color does not make a pitbull.

Your avatar picture looks like a Dogo Argentinio

Again

Again with the red nose. A "red nose" is and american pit bull terrier. The term is only used amongst certain people with a lack of knowledge of the breed. It is given the name red nose because of its nails, nose and often some other parts are red. This is no "other breed". It was also used with the old family reds bloodline which by the way is also a apbt.

PROUD TO BE ME

If You Do Love Pits...........

If a lot of you love pits, why don't you protest about pits not included as a breed in Magazine like " All About Dogs" and why don't you protest against the SPCA for euthanising pits when they are in their kennels as "lost dogs with no owner"? I made a research with regard to SPCA and they kill more pits than any other breed in their kennels without giving the dog a chance to be adopted. Why are you silent?

JUST TO LET YOU KNOW

There is no bylaw against the APBT in this country and absolutely no law that says the SPCA may not adopt out pitbulls.

In the SPCA white books it states that an animal may be put down if it is aggressive, too sickly to be adopted, or ruled not suitable for adoption and/ or a danger to society by an animal behaviourist...it says NOTHING about any particular breed.

I've seen tiny pups be put down, their only crime: being a pitbull, they make no effort to even find an owner or even check them in behaviour tests before killing them...

masike

I totally agree with you!!!!

SPCA puts any APBT or anything that even looks like one to sleep without a chance... They do not let anyone know the dog is there.

My dog was stolen while i was working with the SPCA.after 3months i finally got the adress out of someone and for safety reasons i asked an inspector to fetch him for me.

The next day i got a call from a friend there to tell me my dog is there so i got up and went through.

If still believe that if i had been a member of the public i would never have seen my dog again. When i asked them over the phone if the microchip number matched they didnt even know about the tag. THey scan matted aggressive poodles but not perfectly healthy pitbulls.

They then told me that the guy who stole him surrendered him lol so i would have to pay almost r400 to get him back and he would be sterilised...and i just asked for them to fetch him!

True dat, Pitgal......

........Pits are never given the chance at SPCA. I once took this matter with the manager at Watloo SPCA in Pretoria and his answer was the usual " pits are inherently dangerous" and so they can't " let a person adopt a loaded gun". I was shocked to say the least and up to today i won't donate anything to SPCA for their Cruelty To Pits. Im trying to form a pressure group to lobby for pits as they cant do it on their own.

Sanctuary

Hi Everyone

I must agree, I find it discusting that they do not even give Pit's a chance. I have also wondered why no one in this country has started a sanctuary/rescue for this poor misunderstood breed. There are sancuaries/rescues for almost ever thinkable breed in our country yet I am unable to find any rescue centres for pits. I once went to Wet and they had the most amazing pit female there, luckely she was very friendly and they gave her a fair chance but the people there told me that they hardly ever keep pits. It is very sad but the reality. I know that CHARM does keep pit's when they come in and they have just adopted out like 4 or 5 pits in the last month!! If I had the funds, space and time I would start a rescue in a instand but unfortunitly that it not within my means.
